Cylch Meithrin
‘Cylch Meithrin’ a ‘Ti a Fi’
Rowen
‘Nursery and Parent’ and ‘Toddler Group’
The Nursery, or Meithrin, is for children over 2 who are not yet in school full time. We meet up to four afternoons a week, usually in the village hall, to provide education, care and enjoyment for any child in this age range. As soon as a registration form has been completed the child can be left in our care, although parents are welcome to stay if they wish.
The Parent and Toddler Group, or Ti a Fi, is for children under 2 and these children need to be accompanied by an adult.
Rowen Hall provides plenty of space so Meithrin and Ti a Fi meet together.
The children are looked after by at least two responsible adults with experience of children. At least one of the adults has an NVQ level 3 in Children’s Care. The Meithrin is registered with The Care and Social Services Inspectorate and is inspected by them regularly.
Meithrin children embark on the early stages of the Foundation Phase, focusing particularly on developing social skills, taking part in group activities and enjoying learning new skills. Welsh is introduced as part of all activities.
All children are given the opportunity to do craft work, take part in role play, explore sand, water and soft material, develop their mark making skills, enjoy stories and music, and play with a wide variety of toys. At this age the children are playing, but learning too.
Children with special needs are welcome and expert help is available if required.
We are a small group so can offer each child what they need. Our strong links with the school help when it is time to move up.
